RANDOLPH C. KWEI, Managing Director
   
 

Mr. Kwei has extensive business and investment experience in Asia. He has lived in Hong Kong since 1979 and has built up an extensive network of contacts in the East Asian region. He is well known to many business, financial, and industrial groups in the region. Mr. Kwei founded Pacific Capital Management, Ltd., the Investment Advisor, in 1992.

Prior to forming the Investment Advisor, Mr. Kwei was a senior executive with the Asian Oceanic Group. Previously, Mr. Kwei was associated with Wharf (Holdings) Ltd., where he directed the group's pension fund investment programmes and assumed other investment management responsibilities.

In 1979, Mr. Kwei was appointed Senior Vice President and the Asian regional head of the American Express Bank. Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Kwei developed the bank's merchant banking activities and established a private banking unit. He was responsible for assets in excess of US$1 billion and developed many relationships with regional business groups. In mid-1984, Mr. Kwei resigned from the American Express Bank to become Managing Director and CEO of the Summa International Finance Company, a prominent Indonesian-backed merchant bank in Hong Kong. His knowledge of Southeast Asian business circles was augmented during his tenure with Summa.

Mr. Kwei began his career with IBM in 1960 in New York, where he was involved in several advanced technology projects. In 1968, he founded an innovative software development company. In 1971, he sold his interest in the firm and joined Citibank. In 1974, he was Vice President and the country head for the United Arab Emirates, and in 1977 he managed Citibank's offshore loan booking functions in Athens.

Mr. Kwei has served on the boards of several technology companies in the East Asian region (including Flextronics Inc., Hana Microelectronics Ltd. and ODS System-Pro Holdings Ltd.), is a former Director of the Financial Executives Institute (Hong Kong) Ltd., a former President of the Yale Club of Hong Kong, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Hong Kong. Mr. Kwei serves as a trustee of New Asia College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Mr. Kwei holds a B.E. degree from Yale University and an MBA degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. His academic honours at Columbia included McKinsey Scholar (1959), Newington Scholar (1960), and the Rosewell C. McCrae Prize Scholarship (l960). He was on the Dean's List at Yale. Mr. Kwei is a United States citizen.

   
 
VIOLET CHONG, Senior Portfolio Manager
   
 

Violet Chong is an experienced fund manager, having specialized in Asian equities for more than 15 years. Prior to joining PCML, Ms. Chong was a senior portfolio manager with Skandia Asset Management (Asia) Ltd., responsible for the HK/China and Taiwan portfolios. Previously, she had worked at AXA Investment Managers, responsible for the Taiwan and Thai portfolios across all funds and Daiwa Int'l Capital Management (HK) Ltd.

Ms. Chong has a Master of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. She is an Australian citizen and a permanent resident in Hong Kong.

   
 
SHIRLEY WONG, Investment Analyst
   
 

Shirley Wong has worked in the investment industry since 1999. Previously, she was an analyst with a private family office in Hong Kong. Ms. Wong holds a MS degree in finance from University of Michigan and a bachelor degree from University of British Columbia.

   
 
BELA CHU, Manager
   
 

Bela joined PCML in 1994 as an administrative manager. She is responsible for the integrity of the firm's back-office functions, including settlement of trades. Bela is married and has a young daughter.
